This list is for current and former USGenWeb members, invited guests, other people interested in what we're doing, and just about anyone else.

All topics are open for discussion here, not necessarily limited to the USGenWeb.

Subscribing to ALL

To subscribe, send a message to all-request@usgenweb.us with the word subscribe as the Subject of the message. Text in the body of your message does not get read. USGenWeb members can be confirmed faster if the email address you use to subscribe with, is the same as on your USGenWeb pages.
You will receive a Confirmation message that you will need to reply to. After you have done that, you will receive the Welcome message with your list password. Use your password to Edit your List Options, below

How to Use ALL

To send a message to the list, send it to all@usgenweb.us and try to use a Subject that matches what you are talking about. Please send only plain text messages to the list. Please do not send attachments.
List Rules:
This list is rated PG -- "Parental Guidance Suggested, Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children." Therefore: No dysphemistic, idiomatic, emphatic, cathartic, or abusive swearing or profanity. ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanity
This list operates under a principal of Sturgis that, "Here is the right to free and fair debate, the right of the majority to decide, and the right of the minority to protest and be protected." This list also supports a principal of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference, and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers".
With rights, comes legal responsibility:

1 -- Never re-post a private message without the permission of the author or of a recipient.

2 -- Do not post rumors that demean another person. If you have a good rumor to post, make sure to indicate in one way or the other that it's a rumor.

3 -- Do not post statements about another person as facts, unless you know the statements to be true and can prove it, or you somehow note what you are posting may not be facts.

4 -- Do not harass people (create a hostile, annoying or demeaning situation by repeatedly posting uninvited, unwelcome messages).

We also ask that you not discuss another person's personal private life outside of the USGenWeb, unless a person brings up the topic them self.

ALL has a no-mail option you can turn on when going on a vacation. If you turn that on you will still be a subscriber, can still read the list archives, can still post messages, but you won't get any messages. Visit your Edit Options page to see the many list options we have for you.
